Pinot Nero Carillo Frecciarossa: A touch of Burgundy in Oltrepò Pavese (year 2022)

Pinot Nero Carillo Frecciarossa is a red wine produced with 100% Pinot Nero grapes from the hills of Oltrepò Pavese, in Lombardy. This area, located south of Milan, is known for the production of quality red wines, among which Pinot Nero stands out.

Characteristics of the territory:

• Temperate climate with cold winters and hot, dry summers
• Mainly clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing Pinot Noir
• Vineyards located on the first hills of Casteggio, which benefit from good exposure to the sun and good ventilation

Winemaking:

• Manual grape harvesting
• Destemming and gentle pressing
• Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel
• Short maceration on the skins to extract colour and tannins
• Aged in steel for a few months, followed by a short period in the bottle

• Organoleptic characteristics:

  • Color: Bright ruby ​​red with garnet reflections
  • Nose: Fragrant, subtle, fruity and agile, with intense freshness and integrated tannins. Subtle notes of dark berries, wild berries, roses, geranium and rustic touches.
  • Taste: Elegant, fresh and harmonious, with a light-medium body and well-integrated tannins. The lively acidity gives the wine a pleasant drinkability. The finish is persistent, with hints of red fruits perceived on the nose.

  • Appetizers of cold cuts and fresh cheeses
  • Light first courses based on vegetables or white ragù
  • Second courses of white meat such as chicken, rabbit and turkey
  • Baked or grilled fish
