Red Montalcino DOC La Rasina

La Rasina was founded in the 1970s by Santi Mantengoli, but it was only in the late 1980s that his son Vasco took over the winemaking business. In 1997, the young winemaker Marco took over the management, combining new ideas with modern technology and his father's decades of experience. Spread over 50 hectares, the area includes 8.5 hectares of vineyards, 5 hectares of olive groves and the rest of arable land, located on the north-east side of Montalcino. The vineyards, aged between 3 and 25 years, are all trained with low spurred cordon.

Rasina Rosso di Montalcino is a wine made following rigorous traditional practices: the cultivation of Sangiovese is carried out without the use of chemicals, the yeasts used are indigenous, and the fermentation takes place in steel vats and medium/large capacity barrels.
