The history of the cellar

The history of Val di Suga Montalcino began in 1969, when a company owned by Aldo Moro acquired the agricultural lands located to the north. And he builds a productive and commercial structure there.

Those lands, then intended for the production of forage, were gradually converted to vineyards, also through various changes of ownership, until in 1982 Val di Suga began the production of wine.

The first vintage to enter the market is the "Val di Suga Brunello Riserva 1977".

A rapid viticultural and oenological growth began immediately.

The early eighties saw the beginning of the success and expansion of the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. Thanks to this and to the constant effort and commitment both in the viticultural and oenological fields, Val di Suga begins to stand out in the Chinese panorama.

A few years later, in 1994, the Angelini Group arrives and will give a new impetus to Val di Suga, by now awarded and recognized internationally for the high quality of its wines.

But the strength and uniqueness of the cellar will be determined, over the years, by the putting into production of three vineyards, located on the three slopes of the Montalcino hill, in the most suitable areas for the production of Brunello di Montalcino.
